Galachos de Juslibol, Aragon, Spain

Galachos de Juslibol, Aragon, España

The Galachos de Juslibol is a natural area formed by an old meander of the Ebro River, located just outside Zaragoza.

Galachos are a natural phenomenon formed by changes in the course of the river, creating temporary wetlands that, over time, turn into forests. It includes wetlands, steppe zones, river forests, and gypsum cliffs, offering rich biodiversity.

Protected under Natura 2000, it is home to birds like kingfishers, moorhens, and mallards, as well as native plants adapted to dry conditions. The route also passes through Juslibol, a historic village with medieval roots, and near the ruins of Miranda Castle, built in 1101. This space combines natural and cultural heritage and offers a peaceful, accessible environment ideal for walking, connecting with nature, and learning about the local landscape.
